Supply of the required wood for the country by planting fast-growing trees

The member of the Social Commission of the Parliament stated, “Planting fast-growing trees can meet the demands in the country.” Mohammad Esmail Saeedi further stated, “The topic of the grace period for forests along with the plantation of fast-growing trees is a thoroughly studied category carried out by specialists and the private sectors. Their conclusions indicate that the implementation of this method, namely plantation of industrial-use trees can lead to a high degree of productivity.”
He continued by saying, “Fast-groing trees can mature within a period of five (5) years; therefore, this methods can result in the revitalization of forests while meeting the demand for wood across the country.” Saeedi reiterated, “But, until these conditions are realized, we must give time to forests to breath and we must import a part of our wood requirements to prevent the unnecessary transit of wood and in a way rectify this problem.” He further added, “If we fully implemented the plan for fast-growth trees, we will not need any kind of wood imports in a very a short time and within five (5) years.
” Saeedi also stated, “One of the solutions to combat the shortage of wood Is to set aside some exclusive areas in the country for the plantation of fast-growth trees which not only have industrial applications, but also are rigid and light with a high degree of productivity. This plan can ultimately lead to the revitalization and the conversion of a significant area of lands into forests. This method of planting fast-growth trees is a stage to stage process of maturity, logging and industrialization of trees.”
